2) Should I take Initial or Renewal? ▼
Choose Renewal if you hold a current or recently expired AHA BLS card and your employer allows it. If your card is long expired, you’re new to BLS, or trained elsewhere, book BLS Provider (Initial).
3) What is BLS Skills-Only (HeartCode)? ▼
Skills-Only is the in-person check after completing HeartCode BLS online. Email us or bring your HeartCode completion certificate to your Brooklyn session for same-day certification.
4) What should I bring to class? ▼

AHA PALS Provider eCards are valid for 2 years. Hospitals and EMS agencies across NYC accept AHA. See the PALS course page.
2) Should I take Initial or Renewal? ▼
Book Renewal if your AHA PALS card is current (some employers allow a short grace window—often 30 days). If your card is well past expiration, you’re new to PALS, or trained elsewhere, choose PALS Provider (Initial). When in doubt, confirm with your employer.
3) What is PALS Skills-Only (HeartCode)? ▼
It’s the in-person skills check after completing HeartCode PALS online (also available via onlineAHA). Bring your completion certificate to your Brooklyn session to receive your eCard.
